WOW.. I'm back!

Its been a while since I have posted, but life has been too crazy. I am back and have brought my camera out of hiding. Of course I used my daughter as my subject and she is at the age where she will not cooperate. This is what I got. I hope everyone had a safe 4th of July!

I am totally off topic today, but she does occasionally act like an animal. We went down to the lake today, and these are a few shots I got. Then of course I went into PS and tried a few things. I wish she didnt move so much. I am starting to grasp manual mode a little more. Thank you ladies for all the CC. I love the time change and that I was outside with my DD at 7:00 taking pictures. Have a great evening everyone.

This is my first time and I want to improve so let me have it. Thanks ladies.

Hello everyone. I am sorry I have been gone for a while.. I really hate that I have been so busy. I want to focus on taking pictures and learning from everyone so I am back and hopefully can continue on everyday now. I dont have anything from today, but here are a few from Sea world. We had so much fun. This is now our second time and I love taking her. Plus now Sea world is opening up a water park right in time for the summer.. I hope everyone had a great weekend. The first picture is of Shamu herself.. She only comes out for a brief amount of time, but I caught her. The other two are of my dd watching Shamu in complete amazement. Thank you for looking.

I dont have any photos for today. I thought I would put out there 2 love quotes. I am sure tomorrow that everyone will get their love notes, flowers, chocolate, or if you are like me just an evening together.

"The ultimate test of a relationship is to disagree, but still hold hands."

"It takes a second to say I love you, but a lifetime to show it."

I hope everyone gets to spend the day with their loves. I know I will enjoy it... Its not about gifts but about the love you have for one another.

I am sure that I am not on theme today, but I couldnt be since I dont even know what the theme of the week is. Well I will figure that out but in the meantime here are some photos I took today. Reese was walking around in these shorts and I got a flashback of Jordans recent post. After the flashback ended I grabbed her and my camera and tried to get some decent photos considering her crabby mood. Well this is what I ended up with. (not nearly as delightful as jordans, but i tried)

Tonight I was reading up on several things, and one was the weekly challenge they also have on 2peas. This week was composition. I reasd the lesson and took a look into what I was doing. I grabbed the camera and I took this photo of my DD. The weekly challenge had many points, and one of them was to fill the frame. This is what I was trying to accomplish. This photo is SOOC. Then I used phaunts "sunshine in my hands" action to lighten it up (look at those eyes, eveyday they are a different color. I did not enhance them at all in PS). Is this what filling the frame is about? It looks like too much to me. I guess maybe a different angle or a different expression may have helped. I also took notice to my aperature due to this weeks POTD theme. Putting all this together, how does this look? the settings were 1/60 f/4.0 and iso 400. Thank you for your CC.

Well I am totally off the theme for tonight, but I had to show everyone what we cant live without... ELMO!! This is my DD leaving the house. She has to have her elmo in her hand and this particular evening she had to wear her slippers too (some arguments are better left alone, this was one of them)... She loves ELMO to death and we cannot complete a day without watching at least one of his dvds. So here is a peak into our world. I cant even imagine what are next obsession will be.. Enjoy!

Here are a few pictures I took out by my moms pond. Reese just loves to feed the coy fish and throw rocks into the pond. I was really focusing more on aperature then I was anything else in these photos. The last one is totally blown but I thought it represented what we were suppose to be looking for in this weeks theme. Please let me have any CC so I can improve. Thank you ladies.

Well I went MIA for a few days, but I am back. I am not sure really what this weeks theme is suppose to be about.. Well I know its about aperature, but not sure what is required. So here is a picture of my daughter at the park this weekend. So what do you think? I thought it was pretty good. In focus? I promise once I take a look at what everyone is posted for this weeks theme the pictures will get better. Thank you

Thank you everyone for the comments on my last blog. The hat I found on Ebay for $3.00 I think someone made it because when I got it there were no tags of any sort on it. I love it and she loves wearing it. She wore it into school and everyone thought she was soo cute! Thank you again for your kind words of encouragement, I am still so new to photography and I am falling in love with it.

I was driving by the lake and looked over and saw this view. Thought I would take a picture and see how it turned out. How does it look? I didnt do too much in PS so i am sure it could look a lot better. Thought the sunset through the clouds looked pretty neat. Thanks ladies.

Hello everyone! Well I just took a few snapshots since I got off work late today. Here is my DD showing off her new hat. To try and stay on theme I cropped one horizontal and one vertical. Hope everyone has a great evening.

Somehow I got a day behind but I am here back on task. Vertical Vs. Horizontal: today I thought I would start with something very simple, A sleeping child. I think I got a great shot of her sweet little foot in a perfect horizontal postition. Please CC. I also tried out the action that Toni posted. Thanks Toni!

Well I guess it is almost all the way horizontal.. and I now noticed that the Gerber is Vertical. Am I correct on this one?

Thank you in advance for all you CC..

Treasured!

Here is something that is treasured in our house. Her name is Violet. This was Reese's (my DD) first cabage patch baby, and I had one just like it when I was young. Anyways I didn't get to post yesterday because I am not feeling well, but despite my slight fever and cold I got it out today. As a mom with a husband in retail there is no opportunity for rest so I am off to get more medicine. So here is violet, and please let me know how they look. I shot these is AV mode ISO 1600 and f/3.2 Its very cloudy outside today but I think the lighting I got was good. CC very much appreciated.

WORDS!

Well I have to say my first word here would be "NEW." I am just starting out and have decided to jump in feet first. I want to get to know photography and the only way to do that is to do it hands on. Here are a few pictures I took this last weekend with my daughter and her "new" lollipop. She thinks those are the most amazing things ever. Please let me know how they are, I tried hard on these. I am going to go ahead and start taking pictures of things that dont move around so I can get to know my camera and its functions more. Thanks Kristi.

Please leave any CC for me. Thank you
